  • 1 cup cream
  • 12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
  • a pinch of salt
  • Things to dip, such as fruit, dried fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, and cookies


  • Knife
  • Medium pot
  • Mixing spoon
  • Roasting stick
  • Stove


  1. Pour cream into a pot and heat until it just starts to boil, stirring constantly. (If you have a stove that only burns on high heat, just hold the pot above the flame so that the cream doesn’t burn. You’re just heating the cream enough so that the chocolate melts, so it won’t take long.) Remove the pot from the heat, add the chocolate and a pinch of salt, and stir until it melts.
  2. Serve immediately with fruit and other dippers.
